F. Anderson “Andy” Morse Assumes Virginia Law Foundation Presidency

News 3rd January 2019

CHARLOTTESVILLE, January 3, 2019. F. Anderson “Andy” Morse has succeeded Stephen D. Busch, Esq., as president of the Virginia Law Foundation. Mr. Busch said, “Andy Morse brings a combination of skills and experience as president that will lead the Virginia Law Foundation to new heights of success. Andy’s work as a successful banker, and later as Director of Development of Mount Vernon has given him experience that is well-suited to the Foundation’s needs. We have observed this already through the accomplishments that Andy achieved as chair of our Grants Committee in 2016 and 2017 as well as our Finance Committee chair in 2018. I know that Andy’s leadership will produce excellent results this year and benefits to the Foundation that will accrue far beyond his tenure as our leader.”

Mr. Morse is the current Director of Development for The Society of the Cincinnati and its American Revolution Institute. He previously held senior management roles in fundraising at George Washington’s Mount Vernon and the National Law Enforcement Museum. Prior to his philanthropy career, Mr. Morse was a banking executive for nearly three decades, holding leadership posts as Senior Vice President with PNC Bank, Managing Director and CEO of Riggs Bank Europe Ltd. in London, England, and Chief Financial Officer for WestStar Mortgage Corp.

A Richmond native, Mr. Morse now lives in Clifton, Virginia. He received a B.B.A. from the College of William and Mary and continued studies in International Business and History at Birkbeck, University of London. Active with many charitable and trade organizations, he has presided over five other non-profit boards. A director of the Virginia Law Foundation since 2010, he most recently was Vice President and President-Elect. He currently serves on the Board of Trustees of Randolph College in Lynchburg, Virginia, and is also the International Historian and Vice Chairman of the Pi Kappa Alpha Foundation’s Heritage Commission.
